Classic Division - 2nd place with Ann Mony from Montreal. Choreography by Zack Richard and Maryse Lebeau, with the odd pitching in and modifications by Ann and I, to the song "Harlem Shout" by Jimmie Lunceford. Ann is a long-time friend, and a dancer with whom I love to teach. Together, we've taught and performed at various schools in Montreal, as well as performed for different organizations and charities. For example we recently helped out with afundraiser for the Breast Cancer foundation in September. Back to the video.. The ALHC experience was stressful, because we danced right after Skye Humphries et Frida Segerdahl - our heroes -, who had also chosen a Jimmie song, "Lunceford Special". Finishing second to them gave us warm fuzzy feelings.
Classic Division - 2nd place with Maryse Lebeau from Montreal. Choreography by Zack Richard on the song "Hellzapoppin" by Louis Armstrong. My initial partner, Sara Bédard-Goulet, didn't make it to the championship, so my good friend and coach, Maryse, learnt the choreography in record time (three hours!), in order for us to perform it. All and all, despite technical difficulties with the sticky floor/ sticky shoes, and given the last minute pressure, we were happy with our performance.
